FOUNDATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UGANDA

We've been changing the lives of children and young women for the better for the past ten years.

AND THIS IS OUR STORY...

THE BEGINNINGS

Our Foundation was started with the goal of addressing common issues in rural communities. Through continuously adapting to new circumstances and therefore expanding our operations to new territories, we have been adding instiutions and projects to our repertoire almost yearly since 2017. You can find our more detailed path below and get to know our story.

STORY

2007-now

St. Edward Health Center

In 2007, we have built the St. Edward Health Center in cooperation with the local parish in Nkokonjeru, Central Uganda. Its main task was delivering maternal services, but we have sine been expanding our area of expertise and now offer a variety of services, including most basic medical treatments and immunizations.

2017-now

St. Edward Granny Kindergarten & Primary School

In 2017, the first building of the St. Edward Granny Kindergarten & Primary School was built, and we started our first year with 36 learners. With now over 500 learners, we have grown considerably in the past few years and are now a sizeable and well-known institution in the area

2017

Roses

Project Roses was a framework that allowed us to give information and clarification to young women and girls about their menstrual cycles as well as creating and distributing our own menstrual kits.

2019

Water for Africa

Through the creation of a well and an irrigation system, we improved the living standard of the rural community of Nkokonjeru and enabled them to further develop their agricultural practices.

2020-now

Kathrin Teenage Mother Skill Center

In cooperation with one of our volunteers we created the Kathrin Teenage Mother Skill Center in 2020, in order to enable teenage mothers to partake in vocational training throughout the early stages of motherhood. Startings as a tailoring workshop, we have now also added a bakery and a hair salon

2021-now

Granny Sigrid Kindergarten & Primary School

In 2021, shortly after we created the Kathrin Teenage Mother Skill Center, the Granny Sigrid Kindergarten & Primary School was built, with the purpose to deliver education to the children of our teenage mothers. With now over 100 learners, we have also considerably grown at this school and are expanding yearly.
